Overview
Compass Community Arts is a charitable organisation working with all branches of the community primarily in the South East region. The main aim is to encourage creativity and communication through varied art forms, particularly with marginalised groups who need a voice in society, by helping them to produce work which ensures their talents and capabilities are recognised.
Compass Community Arts:
- Offers workshops in Mime, Drama, Visual Arts and storytelling.
- Runs drama groups, training courses and stage performances in schools, colleges, hospitals, prisons and other public venues.
- Teaches speech training and other theatrical, artistic and therapeutic skills and techniques.
- Provides training for caring professionals, such as teachers and occupational therapists working with people with all kinds of needs.
- Introduces storytelling as a healing art in hospitals and day centres as a springboard for related activities.
